This architect-designed villa in La Palma is perched on a steep slope facing the Atlantic, as graceful as a butterfly. The house's two floors are linked by an outside staircase. You can reserve the Panorama floor and enjoy the peaceful intimacy of this light and airy space. If you're spending your vacation with children, friends or relatives, you can also reserve the first floor (additional 200 m2). Peace and privacy are guaranteed - the property is only rented to one group at a time.
Designed by renowned Berlin architects Kazanski Keilhacker Urban Design Architektur, the property resembles a three-dimensional sculpture. The diamond-shaped sections of the roof are inspired by the wings of a butterfly and offer welcome shade on the sunny south-facing side, while on the north side, a slatted wall turns the wind into a gentle breeze.
Interiors
The villa's sun-drenched upper floor features floor-to-ceiling windows. The lounge area is equipped with prestigious designer furniture - from Saarinen to Jacobsen, from Lissoni to Starck.
The Panorama floor is the heart of the property: 100 m2 built in the Bauhaus style and set against the endless horizon of the Atlantic. It is 100 m2 and can accommodate up to 4 people: open-plan living room with fireplace and integrated kitchenette, study, double bedroom (with queen-size bed), twin bedroom, bathroom with island bath and WC, separate shower and WC, Wi-Fi, TV, satellite receiver, dishwasher, hi-fi system, washing machine, tumble dryer.
The garden level, with its façade clad in natural local stone, speaks of living in harmony with nature. It's 100 m2 for up to 4 people: combined living/bedroom (50 m²) with sofa bed and queen-size bed, double bedroom (queen-size bed) (25 m²), bathroom with bath and WC, separate shower and WC, Wi-Fi -Fi, TV, satellite receiver, dishwasher, hi-fi system.
The exteriors
The view from the extensive terraced gardens over the green hills to the sea is spectacular. From the villa, you'll immediately understand why the island of La Palma is also known as "La isla bonita" - the beautiful island - and why UNESCO declared it a biosphere reserve over 10 years ago.
7,000 m2 of the island are reserved exclusively for Gran Atlantico residents, with its beautifully landscaped gardens, solar-heated swimming pool with pavilion, dining area for 8 under a pergola and many perfect spots to enjoy magnificent sunsets. And when the sun goes down, the park is illuminated by lights located in the pool and in various green niches around the gardens.

Service and staff
On arrival, you can choose to be greeted with a basket containing traditional almond bread, fresh fruit and vegetables from the local organic store and a selection of La Palma goat's cheeses. You'll find everything you need in the kitchen, from herbs and spices to cookbooks, Siemens appliances and a large Nespresso machine.
Fresh fish can be ordered daily from the local fishmonger. There's also a picnic basket to take with you on day trips.
Soft, fluffy towels and Egyptian cotton bed linen are provided for your comfort.

Situation
Villa La Palma is located in an idyllic, tranquil setting just 5 minutes by car from Puntagorda, on the gentle, sunny western side of the island of La Palma. In the village, you'll find all the necessities and conveniences of daily life: several supermarkets, an organic food store with local fruit and vegetables, banks and restaurants. Every Saturday and Sunday, a farmer's market is held just a few steps from the house.
The small port of Puntagorda can be reached by car in 10 minutes, while the nearest sandy beach (Tazacorte) is a 30-minute drive away.
Puntagorda is an ideal starting point for hikes - either directly from the house, or through the picturesque landscape of the northern part of La Palma. You may also wish to visit the lively Los Llanos district with its boutiques, restaurants, cafés and art galleries.
Note
The house can be rented with only the Panorama floor (2 bedrooms - 4 pax).
But the configuration is one room with a double bed and one room with a twin bed. It is therefore more suitable for a couple with 2 children.
The entire villa can be rented for a total occupancy of 6 adults and 2 children.
