Listing Description

Villa Monsummano is a detached villa nestled in over 18 hectares of woodland and olive groves, on the last western slope of Mount Albano. Renovated with respect for bio-architecture, the villa is elegantly equipped with antique furniture, ornaments, paintings etc. ... while retaining all the assets and comforts of a modern home. Due to the owners' passion for antiques, mainly ornaments from the 15th century through to the period of French freedom, the villa, for over 30 years, has been furnished with various pieces, sourced from auctions, antique shops and fairs in surrounding Tuscan towns such as Lucca and Pistoia.

Interiors

  • First floor
Large living-dining room that can seat up to 14 people and features a large 15th-century fireplace with armchairs. There is also a beautiful view of the garden and pool. Another living room leads to the large Tuscan kitchen with its own fireplace and antique-style oven. There is also a bathroom on this floor. Finally, this floor features a double bedroom that opens onto a covered veranda with dining table and chairs, overlooking the pool and hillside towns.
  •  Second floor
At the entrance is a stone staircase leading to the bedrooms with a beautiful 17th-century wrought-iron banister. The first floor features terracotta Florence lily tiles. The ceiling also features terracotta rosettes painted in imitation bronze.
One master bedroom. With its own bathroom with Turkish bath/shower and a beautiful view of Monsummano Alto, which is lit up at night.
Another slightly smaller room with a view of the valley.
It shares a bathroom (with bath, Jacuzzi and emotional shower) with the third bedroom, which has two single beds that can be combined to form a double bed on request.

The exteriors

The exterior of the villa is clad in typical local stone, as are almost all the houses in the area, and retains the original appearance of having been built two hundred years ago. The garden overlooks a 360° view of woods and olive groves, secondary mountain towns and hills with chestnut and cypress trees. To the north, you can see the towers of Serravalle Pistoiese and in the distance the mountains of Abetone, a famous ski resort. The road in front of the villa leads to some of the surrounding houses. All in all, a complete immersion in total silence.

There's a small wood with a relaxation area featuring armchairs and tables, and a plunging view of the pool.
The pool is 8 x 16 m² and has a large hydro-massage area for 8 people. It is on a natural terrace a few meters below the villa level and has a magnificent, almost theatrical view over the valley.
The pool is equipped with a special purification system to guarantee maximum hygiene. The pool has an automatic system to maintain pH and chlorine values in the right range.
