Villa Ilona

Nestled in 50 acres of olive groves in the village of Vorno, just a stone’s throw from the historical city of Lucca, Villa Ilona offers the perfect destination for private and corporate clients looking for a large villa rental, or venue for family reunions, celebrations and events.
With a stunning swimming pool and tennis court, as well as large games rooms with billiard table, the Villa offers all the amenities and comfort you could need for a bespoke and authentic Tuscan experience.

Indoors

The main Villa has 12 double bedrooms. Each room is uniquely decorated in a mix of Tuscan and British interior design. All bedrooms but two in Villa Ilona are en suite (which share a bathroom on the landing below). There are also several additional reception rooms with a grand piano, chess, backgammon, bridge and much more on offer.

In a separate building called Casa Una there is a very charming farmhouse on the grounds of Villa Ilona with 4 double bedrooms and triple bedroom, all with en suite bathrooms. There is also a exquisitely decorated sitting room, dining room seating six people and a kitchen with AGA cooker. Outside Casa Una there is a private « alfresco » dining terrace and garden with pizza oven and wonderful views of the Tuscan hills and the Alpi Apuane.

With four extra beds for children the main Villa con sleep 28 and Casa Una 11. The main Villa and Casa Una can be rented separately or together.

An 18th bedroom and 17th bathroom are located in La Casina, a small cottage with its own private garden and swimming pool.

Whether you are celebrating a family reunion, a birthday, Christmas, New Years, Easter, or Thanksgiving at Villa Ilona, the chef can prepare a delicious lunch or dinner of three or four courses for you and your guests.
We can arrange for silver service dinner in our stunning frescoed dining room or alternatively arrange an atmospheric setting outdoors in the grounds of the villa.

In addition to privately catered dinners and lunches, at Villa Ilona you can also learn to cook and prepare the same authentic Italian food that they serve.

Shop in the local markets before learning about local flavours and how to cook authentic Italian recipes with our renowned Rhode School of Cuisine in our huge traditional Tuscan Limonaia kitchen.

Location

Within a 10 minute drive of Lucca, 30 minutes from Pisa airport and an hour from Florence, the Villa lies in the heart of the birth place of the Renaissance. 

Take walking tours of the the historic city of Lucca or cycle the famed medieval walls. Go wine tasting at our local Enotecas or take a trip to the frantoio (olive press) and learn about the various stages of the oil being produced. Hold a tennis tournament on the Villa’s private court or hold yoga and meditation classes besides the pool in the grounds with the English and Italian speaking yoga instructor.

Take day trips into the surrounding towns and cities, for instance, Pisa, Florence, Forte dei Marmi and Sienna.
In the evenings, attend an Opera recital of the best arias from Puccini, Verdi and Mozart at either the beautiful Church of San Giovanni or the oratorio of the Museo della Cattedrale.
Alternatively we can arrange for a private opera recital in the Villas stunning chapel with excellent acoustics.
